A new milestone for Italian maize cultivation.

The 2025 edition of Combi Mais marked a new milestone for Italian maize cultivation, confirming the value of an agronomic protocol that, thanks also to the partnership with Cifo, has successfully tackled the challenges posed by climate change and new production demands.
As emphasized by Professor Amedeo Reyneri from the University of Turin during the presentation of results last September 2025, the application of the Combi Mais protocol ensured greater resilience to thermal stress recorded during the flowering period in June, a critical moment for maize cultivation.

Technology and biostimulation: the heart of the protocol.

Essential to this result was the use of Sinergon Plus, Cifo’s biostimulant, which—integrated into two herbicide treatments (early post-emergence in late April and post-emergence in mid-May)—helped mitigate herbicide stress, improving plant growth and resistance to high temperatures.

Another key element was Granverde Top Start, Cifo’s starter fertilizer, which promoted rapid emergence and root system development, significantly reducing damage from root rot caused by heavy spring rainfall. This allowed the plants to face the initial growth stages with greater vigor, ensuring uniformity and healthy vegetative development.

“The results of Combi Mais 2025 show how a well-structured technical protocol, based on highly effective products like those from Cifo, can truly make a difference. Our field experience confirms that a healthy and well-nourished plant is stronger, more productive and more resilient to environmental stress.”

Towards a sustainable and high-quality supply chain.

To underline the importance of the initiative, Alessandro Beduschi, Regional Minister of Agriculture for Lombardy, proposed enhancing Lombard maize with a DOP label, recognizing the central role of the supply chain in national production and the quality achieved thanks to innovative protocols like Combi Mais.
With its expertise and high-tech products, Cifo confirms its role as a strategic partner for sustainable, productive, and high-quality agriculture, working alongside farmers and institutions.
